It’s almost Christmas and who can forget the reason for the season? Well, not MADtv! This classic skit still cracks me up. The Greatest Action Story Ever Told.
On November 9, 1934 the Cosmos blessed our Earth with Carl Edward Sagan. In 1939, at the age of five he was taken to the World’s Fair in New York where he was inspired by the exhibition “America of Tomorrow.” From that point on, Carl Sagan would remain both curious about the universe we live in, but also fabulously “in awe” of our world and our Cosmos. He published over 200 scientific papers and authored 20 books. And while those are remarkable feats for a kid born to Russian immigrant workers in New Jersey, I believe he should be remembered most as the best 20th century example of a scientist (and outspoken atheist) who embraced the awesomeness, beauty and elegancy of our Universe. And luckily for us, he shared that passion with all of us.
So, today, on the anniversary of his birth, I had to share one of my favorite autotune songs of all time.
To celebrate the birthday of one of American’s most beloved comedian actors, we’ve dedicated today’s first post to Dom DeLuise!
This is one of my favorite skits from Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. It’s a great example of the fun-loving comedy style of Dom DeLuise.
In honor of today, we present you our own personal version of patriotism — a bit of classic Robin Williams… as the American Flag.
Enjoy and have a Happy 4th!
It’s always funny to look back and see folks either wildly guessing at what the future will hold or just completely missing a developing trend or technology. Here is Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric displaying their complete lack of knowledge regarding the internet back in early 1994. Heck, I had been play MUD’s, searching with Gopher and chatting with emotes all well before 1994… But then again – I’m a geek.
What would happen if a five year old wrote a comic book? Well, wonder no longer! Axe Cop and Dinosaur Soldier is a comic book written by Malachai Nicolle (age 5) and Illustrated by his older brother Ethan Nicolle (age 29). Check out this great motion comic video promoting the first book in the series!
While admitting that anyone not familiar with Photoshop will be utterly lost watching this, for the few of us that spend WAY too much time using Adobe’s top selling app this video is side-splittingly funny.
So, these two thieves on a motor-scooter flew by and snatched a woman’s purse on in a parking lot in China. Surveillance video shows a man on a bicycle who sees the attacK. Deciding to slow up the criminals, he waits until they are passing by. Then he picks the bike up, and throws it at the thieves. The bicycle hit them, they lost control, and crashed to the ground.
He slowed down the thieves enough for police to catch them… and got a very nice award from the local Chinese police department as well!
Our friends Rhett & Link have launched a new webseries (or at least they have a first episode posted!). All we’re sure about is that we get two of our favorite things in this series: the comedy and creativity of Rhett & Link AND superhero suits. It’s like a dream come true!
